Early Grief Processing
Moving through the grief of losing someone we love is a complicated and long process. In this phase of doula work, which begins three to six weeks after death, families do the work of reprocessing the events of a loved one's passing. This includes:
Group reprocessing
One-on-one reprocessing
Identifying moments of deep meaning, positives, and impressions from before and during vigil
Education on the five stages of grief
Referrals to bereavement resources, such as local grief support groups
